Q: What time is check-in and check-out?

A: Check-in is at 4 PM and check-out is at 11 AM. Late checkout may be available and at times an additional fee may be charged. Please inquire at the front desk.


Q: Are there any charges at check-in beyond my room rate?

A: Yes. There is a $250 per stay refundable deposit in case of damage or incidental charges due at check-in.


Q: Do you serve breakfast? How much does it cost?

A: Due to COVID-19, we are not serving breakfast at this time.


Q: How close are you to…

A: Little Caesars Arena? We are an amazing 78 steps from our front door to Little Caesars Arena.

A: Ford Field? We are an easy 5-minute walk from Ford Field, just 0.3 mile.

A: Comerica Park? We’re an easy 5-minute walk from Comerica Park as well, just 0.3 mile.

A: Cobo Center? We are 1.3 miles from the Cobo Conference Center.


Q: Do you have parking?

A: Directly adjacent to the building is a private, secure lot we recommend for our overnight guests. The fee is $25 per night, per car.


Q: Are pets allowed at the inn?

A: The Inn at 97 Winder is a no-pet inn except in these circumstances: we welcome all service animals trained to provide a service to a disabled person. Please let us know if you have a service animal when you book and which service they are trained to perform. We welcome emotional support dogs or cats that are well-behaved. Please provide your signed ESA letter from a certified mental health provider at check-in. We do not allow animals to remain in the room unattended. There is no charge for these animals to stay.


Q: Do you have Wi-Fi? Is there a fee?

A: Wi-Fi is complimentary to all overnight guests.


Q: Do you have meeting and event facilities?

A: We do! We cater to intimate events of up to 40 people. Please visit our weddings or events pages to learn more.


Q: How do I alter my booking?

A: If you’ve booked with us, please give us a call at 313.832.4348 and we’ll take care of your change right away if a change is possible (please see cancellation policy below). If you booked through a third party such as Expedia or Booking.com, please contact them to make a change.


Q: What is your cancellation policy and return policy?

A: Cancellation and Return Policy: For rooms booked with us directly, reservations may be canceled up to three (3) days prior to your arrival date for a full refund. Reservations canceled fewer than three (3) days prior to your arrival will be charged for 100% of the full reservation cost, including all taxes and fees. For example, for a reservation with a Friday arrival date, such a reservation would need to be canceled by no later than the preceding Tuesday by no later than 5:00pm in Detroit for a full refund. Reservations booked through any third party service must be canceled through that same third party service, subject to that third party service’s cancellation policy. For items purchased from the Sundry Shop, no refunds or returns are allowed. All sales are final for Sundry Shop purchases.

A: Yes! The Inn at 97 Winder was originally the John Harvey House, built in 1887. Please visit our history page to learn more about our fascinating mansion.
